new year, new gimik.
anong bago ngayong bagong taon? wala naman masyado. nag-aattempt lang maging fit. hindi kasi nawala completely ang aking preggy tummy. si hub naman, gusto na rin maging fit. ang solusyon namin: wiifit. woohoow!

what a nice way to start the year. kunwari fitness buffs kami. fun naman yung mga exercises. kahit yung basic step exercise or running lang, cute na yung interface, nakakapagod pa (o dahil siguro hindi talaga ako fit). isa pa, kung sa tunay na buhay ay hindi ako makapaghula hoop, at least sa wiifit, nagagawa ko ito. hehehe. sumuko na nga lang ako sa push ups. hindi talaga yun kaya ng powers ko. siguro through time, pag unti-unti na akong nagiging fit.

sabi ko kailangan kong maalis ang preggy tummy ko. akala ko dapat akong magbawas ng timbang. pero sabi ni wiifit, with all the body mass index calculations, kailangan ko pa palang bumigat. dapat ma-tone ang mga muscles. okay naman din. pag mas fit na ako, mas hindi ako mapapagod magbitbit kay Mo at bilang paghahanda na rin sa kanyang crawling, walking at running stage, dapat alert, alive, awake, enthusiastic din ako para magabayan siya.

sana lang mapanindigan ko.

panahon na naman ng pagsesenti. sandaling pagsulyap sa wedding blog, sa blog entry noong 1st anniv, sa mga larawan noong araw na *ahem* super ganda ko (hehehe), pagbalik-tanaw sa mga napagdaanan namin nitong taon...

at shempre, sa pagdiriwang ngayong araw, walang calla lillies. walang engrandeng bakasyon/weekend getaway/tunay na tunay na honeymoon...

finally may induction-cooker-compatible uh... cookware na kami kaya ang brunch ay home-cooked chorizo at ang late-lunch-na-dinner-na ay tapa naman. yes. pwede na kaming hindi lumabas ng condo na hindi mamamatay sa gutom. may lutuan na kami at oo-tunay-na-ito na kitchen. woohoow.

at kung hindi pa iyan sweetie, baka ito, masweetihan ka na:

yeah, yeah. geeky stuff ito. pero kailangan kong nandito siya somewhere for my sanity. nagawa ko na ito dati noong nakahingi ako ng pdf ng harry potter 6, kaya sa palm m515 ko siya binasa. years later, shempre nakakuha ang ng pdf ng The Wedding at saka A Walk to Remember, at shempre nakalimutan ko na kung anong steps ang ginawa ko. pero carry naman kasi nagawa ko naman siya ulit pagkatapos ng masusing research ulit sa internet.

lo and behold.

siguro last month ko lang iyon ginawa, at ngayong may chapters 1 - 10 ako ng hp 7, shempre, nakalimutan ko na naman kung paano magconvert. grr. heto po. idodocument ko na. mahirap namang pag buong hp 7 na ang nakuha ko eh makalimutan ko na naman how to convert pdf to pdb.

2. pyrpub filenames.html ---> produces output file filenames.pdb

been a good girl lately so i decided i should get myself a mac --- a mac theme for my ubuntu desktop, that is. took a break from the usual python programming or deriving equations from physics that i could never really understand... i searched and downloaded a mac theme from here. spent the next couple of hours customizing, installing gdesklets, and customizing some more... hehehe. cool talaga ng linux!

yay! sudoku! yay! sudoku!

a few days ago, i got a message from hub through google talk. he said he wants to attend this year's Philippine Open Source Conference.

The conference will be held on September 26-28 in Edsa Shangri-la. The event is merged with the first Philippine Voice and Telephony Technology Conference.

Wow!

knowing that he is an open source advocate (fanatic?) and a voip enthusiast, the yay-i'm-a-supportive-wifi in me immediately checked my calendar. Tuesday to Thursday. hmmn. i gave him the go signal, "sige, mag-absent ka for three days."

realizing that the conference falls on three work days, he said he wants ME to attend the conference instead. (me? join this contest? why did i?) i told him i'd like to attend the conference with him (not by myself, walang mag-eexplain sa akin ng mga jargon). then he said, "hindi pwede tayong dalawa. may bayad eh."

hehe. i went back to the site and found out that it wasn't a free conference after all. we can't both attend it. dang, even one of us can't attend it. hahaha.

better luck next year for us.

because of the internet, i am able to:

1. share my random thoughts online via blogging and inspire "blog-influence" pressure a few people to blog too and share photos and digiscraps online (via flickr, yahoophotos, etc.)
2. communicate via email, ym, gaim, google talk, yahoo groups, friendster, multiply, myspace, hi5, et cetera...
3. tutor math via chat and reach out to students
4. watch philippine idol and koreanovelas via youtube (woohoow!)
5. plan our wedding with the help of w@w and document our planning process in our wedsite
6. get freeware and free e-books for my treo
7. nurture virtual pets at neopets
8. research for my thesis
9. research/canvass/view products (especially gadgets) to buy or movies to watch before hitting the mall
10. create websites, read news, play sudoku, bloghop and surf about anything and everything to shoo boredom away

my internet journey has really been a fun learning experience. i remember it was one of my college buddies, tinek, who forced me to stay with her as she tried surfing the net at the college of science library around 1995? 1996? i was still clueless then. i was just watching the netscape logo, waiting for the animation to stop. hehehe. next, my sister insisted that we get a modem for our pc at home. she was the one who helped me get my first yahoo email address (dont ask me what it was because a few log-ins later, i already forgot it). gaaah, the sound of the modem shrieking its way to internet connection can be heard all over our house. hahaha.

was cleaning up my inbox and i came across my weekly subscription of treo news and products. this one caught my attention before i hit the delete button,
it's an american idol tracker for your treo! hi-tech! now you can keep track of your favorite idols, their songs, judges' comments, etc. hehehe.

considering my bad memory, if i have this software installed on my phone, i will use it for philippine idol. that way, i won't have to rely on reading other people's philippine idol blog entries before watching the show on youtube. (i actually read the episode summary first so i know what/who to look out for and blogs sometimes give a nice backgrounder/recap on the contestant so it's easy to recall). and yes, i'm really bad with people's names. i cheer, "go, long hair!" instead of the person's name. hehehe. can't wait to see crymarie's performance next week. hehehe.

noon ko pa sinasabi na gusto ko ng 2GB na SD card para kay treo. kaso scared ako baka hindi kayanin ng powers ni treo (at ng powers ni budget). kahapon, finally, pinayagan na akong bumili ng 1GB na SD. yay!
